Dynamic Card Ties Mobile Payments Platform To MicroSD Cards

Dynamic Card Solutions’ mobile-payments personalization platform has begun supporting Tyfone Inc.’s SideTap microSD memory card for contactless payments, the Englewood, Colo.-based provider of instant card-issuing technology reported on Oct. 19.

MicroSD is a format for removable flash-memory cards commonly used in mobile phones, media players, digital cameras and some newer global positioning devices. Portland, Ore.-based Tyfone is one of several mobile-technology companies that has developed a microSD card as the industry waits for Near Field Communication technology to enter the market (see story). NFC chips support two-way communications with other NFC chips; microSD memory cards do not.

Dynamic Card Solutions’ mobile-payments platform, CardWizard Perso-to-Go, securely personalizes any contactless-payment form, including embedded NFC chips, stickers, key fobs and MicroSD cards, the company noted in a news release.
