Ecwid to Offer Acculynk's PayLeap to Small Retailers

Acculynk will provide its payments processing gateway, PayLeap, to  customers of cloud-based global e-commerce provider Ecwid.

PayLeap allows merchants to accept U.S. and International-based PIN payments from ATM and debit cards in addition to traditional credit and debit payments.  The PIN debit option will enable Ecwid's small and mid-size merchants to shift "the liability for chargebacks from the merchant to the card issuer," says PayLeap's general manager John Chandy in a March 18 press release.

Under the agreement, over 400,000 Ecwid retailers in 175 countries will have access to PayLeap directly and through their network of partners. PayLeap will also be available to more than 200,000 monthly active users of Ecwid's Facebook store builder app.

Acculynk purchased PayLeap in 2012 to begin selling to smaller merchants. Prior to the acquisition, Acculynk had a customer base of about 2,000 large retailers including American Airlines.
