Agilis Systems LLC, a St. Louis-based company that makes employee-management software that operates on mobile devices, has added Charge Anywhere's payment processing to its software, says Charge Anywhere, a South Plainfield, N.J.-based mobile-payments company. This is the first use of a payment function in Agilis' software, which operates on mobile phones, smart phones and similar devices, an Agilis spokesperson tells CardLine. Called SmartPay by Agilis, the service sends the card information, which is typed into the device, to Charge Anywhere for processing. "The advantage to our service is the customer does not have to purchase additional hardware," the spokesperson says. Users can accept payments in the field that are integrated into a company's accounting system for ease of tracking, she says. For example, a heating and air conditioning contractor could take immediate payment from the customer without having to send a paper invoice and wait for payment, which can speed up a company's cash flow, the spokesperson says. Agilis also sells a small receipt printer that uses Bluetooth technology to connect to the mobile device.
