Epay Debuts Google Play Gift Cards in Germany

Prepaid card provider epay has rolled out Google Play gift cards at more than 5,600 food and discount stores in Germany.

A division of payments processor Euronet Worldwide, epay will offer the cards at gas stations, drug stores, electronic stores and convenience stores in Germany. Google Play gift cards can be used to buy digital content for Android phones and tablets.

Our experience with leading mobile and online retailers has proven there is tremendous customer demand for a prepaid payment solution for use with the Google Play store, said Marc Ehler, managing director of epay Europe in a July 16 press release.

The epay product portfolio includes prepaid mobile top-up, prepaid long distance, prepaid debit cards, e-wallets, gift cards, digital music and other content. It also offers money transfer through Ria Financial Services, a Euronet money transfer subsidiary. Epay delivers these products through about 350,000 retailer locations in Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Turkey, UAE, the U.K., the U.S. and other markets.
