Equifax is working with the mobile payments company Zumigo to jointly develop fraud prevention software.
The technology aims to streamline checkout and payments at mobile commerce sites, according to an April 29 press release. The companies will use consumer credit data, carrier billing data and device location information.
More consumers will shop on mobile devices when those devices become "more secure than the plastic in their wallets and can be used as a proxy for their identities," says Anand Krishnaswamy, vice president of mobile commerce at Equifax, in a press release.
When integrated into a mobile shopping cart, the joint tool will enable consumers to consent to access of their personal information.
