First Data Corp. has won a contract to process cards for Euro Bank SA in a deal that includes the Polish bank's planned launch of Visa-branded chip cards, the United States-based processor says in a statement Wednesday. First Data, which says the deal is a three-year extension of a previous contract, started to work with Euro Bank in 2003. The processor also provides the bank with ATM transaction-authorization, fraud-monitoring and related services. As part of its chip card launch, the bank plans to upgrade its ATM network so the cash machines can accept the new cards, the statement says. Neither the bank nor First Data responded to CardLine Global requests for comment.
