IMGCAP(1)]

France-based card vendor Gemalto NV said Thursday it will provide high-end EMV smart cards and personalization services to Poland-based ING Bank Slaski SA,  an arm of Netherlands-based ING Group. Gemalto says one of the deal's goals is to provide Polish consumers with cards that comply with the regulations of the Single Euro Payments Area, which seeks to create a cross-border debit card-payments zone in Europe. Gemalto will supply credit and debit cards, though a Gemalto spokesperson declines to detail card numbers to. The EMV cards will carry "dynamic data authentication," or DDA, a more-expensive security feature for EMV cards than "static data authentication," or SDA. Gemalto says it will supply the cards from its Polish facility in Tczew.
