Payments industry experts are volunteering to establish best-practice recommendations for integrated payments through ATMs in conjunction with the ATM Integrated Payments Standards Forum organized by the ATM Industry Association’s International Payments Forum, the association announced March 22.
The forum is developing an open-standards approach to achieving broad acceptance of alternative and nontraditional payments through ATMs. It is addressing software and hardware considerations, determining appropriate financial services for ATMs and exploring ways to support new payments applications, such as mobile and cardless transactions, the association noted in a press release.
The initiative’s goal is to bring together key industry stakeholders and develop best-practice standards for message and communications protocols, security and compliance, mobile and cardless transactions, and use-case recommendations.
