Triton Systems of Delaware Inc. is joining organizations worldwide to shut down a Web site that sells skimming equipment that criminals place on ATM card readers to steal data they can use to make counterfeit credit and debit cards. Bob Douglas, director of engineering for the Long Beach, Miss.-based ATM manufacturer, says he contacted the U.S. Secret Service about shutting down the site, which continues to operate. The site also sells cameras criminals can use to record ATM users entering their PINs. The Web site says it makes and sells skimming equipment that can be used on Triton, Hyosung, Tranax, Diebold and Wincor Nixdorf ATMs. The European ATM Security Team in Glasgow, Scotland, also has contacted law-enforcement officials in Europe about shutting down the site, Lachlan Gunn, the group's coordinator and founder, tells CardLine sister publication ATM&Debit News.
