Hackers Target Payza's Blog

Payment processor Payza's blog suffered a Web attack on Friday, Dec. 19, though the company said the assailants did not compromise sensitive business information.

During the morning, the blog's site displayed a mocking message: "Hey Payza Hacked: Is this is what u Call Security…Don't Worry I'm not going to Leak it: D." The screen also said the blog was "Hacked by MindCracker."

The page also listed some numbers and strings of characters, without an explanation as to what they were. The implication is that these were compromised passwords or some other user data.

"The Payza blog is provided by a third party and it is purely a way to provide information to our members," said Ali Nizameddine, executive vice president of product and technology for Payza, in an email. "We have taken the blog down while we investigate the source of that attack. We want to stress, however, that the blog is hosted separately from the actual Payza platform and the breach in no way touches any other portion of the Payza website or any information on our members, sensitive data or anything related to the company's business."

Payza's main website appeared untouched during the time its blog page was affected.
