Heartland Adopts VeriFone's Pay-At-The-Table Service

Payment processor Heartland Payment Systems Inc. has certified VeriFone Holdings Inc.'s pay-at-the-table service, VeriFone announced today. Heartland sales agents will sell VeriFone's On The Spot service, which it has rebranded as Heartland Tableside, nationwide. Heartland will use VeriFone's Vx670 wireless terminals, which connect to a remote VeriFone server via Wi-Fi that sends the transaction into the payment network. A National Restaurant Association survey conducted last year found that 53% of consumers would like to use pay-at-table devices if they were made available, but only 1% of restaurants currently offer them.
