Horizon Bank last week announced it plans to reissue some debit cards to customers in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan after the cards were compromised in the Heartland Payment Systems Inc. data breach. The Michigan City, Ind.-based bank did not disclose how many customers may be affected. Horizon operates 16 branches in Indiana and Michigan. In January, Heartland admitted hackers had gained access to its network last year (CardLine, 1/20). The hackers captured the credit and debit card numbers and expiration dates of an undisclosed number of cards. The Princeton, N.J.-based processor has not said how many transactions were affected.
