A German subsidiary of United States-based First Data Corp. will continue to process card payments for 43 retail outlets and restaurants operated by furniture firm IKEA Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, First Data says in a statement released Tuesday. The furniture retailer deploys at least 1,500 point-of-sale terminals in Germany, the statement says. The First Data subsidiary, TeleCash GmbH & Co. KG, also will install and maintain terminals. The deal also calls for TeleCash to provide the merchant with "electronic receipt storage," a service that enables cardholders to sign electronic signature pads. TeleCash files the receipts. IKEA is the first TeleCash client to use the service, the statement says.
