Punjab National Bank plans to deploy ATMs across India that will serve disabled consumers, an official from the retail banking department of the bank tells CardLine Global. "We are installing biometric ATMs," the spokesperson says. "These biometric ATMs will not require the PIN-authentication procedure and instead will allow access by reading fingerprints, retinas and faces." Though some ATMs in India cater solely to the blind, the new machines also will serve consumers with other disabilities, the spokesperson says, declining to reveal the ATM manufacturer or the number of machines the bank plans to deploy.
