The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corp., which oversees public infrastructure in the city of Navi Mumbai, near Mumbai, has introduced an online-payment system residents can use to pay water bills and property taxes. The system enables consumers to make payments with credit cards carrying the Visa and MasterCard logos, the organization says in a statement. Officials hope the system reduces long lines at the organization's office and enables consumers to make more municipal payments in the future, but they gave no schedule.
