“This a bid to widen our ATM reach for the customers,” an official from the federation says. “We have 8 million accountholders across the state, and we would wish for them to be able to access ATMs anywhere in India.”

The federation is talking to core banking providers to set up a centralized data system, according to the official.

“In fact, there will be two centralized data systems,” he says. “While the first one will come up at Ahmadabad, the second one will come up in some other state.”

Both tasks should be done by the end of this year, and the link up should be completed by March 2011.”
