Indian mobile commerce company Paytm plans to test ultrasonic sound waves for mobile payments.
Paytm will add a “Sound Pay” icon to its mobile app. When a consumer presses the icon, sound waves will transmit data including their credentials and the payment amount to the merchants mobile app.
Once the merchant receives the information on their device, they can check to ensure that the consumer has enough money to complete the transaction.
