The National Association of ATM ISOs & Operators has joined the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, a Wakefield, Mass.-based organization that sets standards for improving the security of payment data. The association is encouraging member companies to volunteer for a committee to work with the PCI council, the organization tells ATM&Debit News, a CardLine sister publication. "Your company, along with [the association], has a lot to offer this council, and we want you to be a part of … ongoing development and work," the association wrote in an e-mail. "Please let us know if you or a member or your organization would like to be included on this committee." The association also has been meeting with Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, and Discover Financial Services and its Pulse electronic funds transfer network to discuss the companies' network policies and how they affect association members. Independent ATM sales organization founded the association in 2007 to represent their interests.
