Kenyan Bank Begins To Issue MasterCard Debit Card

Southern Credit Banking Corp. Ltd. in Kenya has begun to issue MasterCard-branded debit cards. The bank is the first financial institution to issue such cards in Kenya, according to a statement from Njuguna Ndung'u, governor of the Central Bank of Kenya. CardLine Global could not immediately confirm that claim. The bank is using processing software from ElectraCard Services, the India-based vendor says in a statement. The Indian firm provides similar services to support the bank's "Senator Card" credit card.
