A computer glitch Dec. 20 at Macy's Inc. department stores causing multiple debits to some customers' checking accounts has been "identified and corrected," according to a Macy's spokesperson. The glitch occurred between 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 20 and only affected debit card transactions, the spokesperson says. A "very small number" of customers were affected by the glitch, but Macy's did not have the exact figures. The company has contacted customers' banks and they will be credited the proper amount, according to the spokesperson.
