Mason-Harrison-Ratliff Enterprises (MHR), which operates 275 Sonic locations, has deployed Mobivity's SmartReceipt at Dallas-area restaurants with plans to expand the technology to its franchises in Mississippi and Florida, Phoenix-based Mobivity said in a March 10 press release.

The cloud-based SaaS technology allows merchants to print "smart" receipts with coupons, special offers or third party advertisements at the bottom. Through SmartReceipt, businesses can also store transactional information via the cloud and have real-time access to sales data.

MHR tested Mobivity's technology at some Sonic locations, seeing high redemption rates of the offers printed on customers' receipts.

The two companies are also working together to use SmartReceipt's data analytics to improve MHR's text-message marketing campaigns, which thus far have resulting in incremental revenue gains of more than 28%, according to the press release.

"We expect the ability to transform our receipts into targeted, relevant, and measurable promotions will increase sales at our Sonic locations," Justin Chandler, director of operations of MHR Dallas, said in the release. "Additionally, the ability to instantly access our sales data and combine that intelligence with our digital promotional campaigns is a breakthrough as we are unable to do so with our legacy point-of-sale systems."

Beyond MHR, Mobivity's other clients include brands like CNN, Disney, the NFL and Chick-fil-A. SmartReceipt is compatible with more than 80% of point of sale systems, the vendor says.
