Mastercard has hired Sandra Arkell as its new executive vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer.
Arkell will join Mastercard next month to lead the company’s accounting, internal controls and financial reporting activities, Mastercard said in a Friday press release.
Currently Arkell is vice president and controller at Dover Corp., a manufacturer of specialty equipment and components for energy, food and engineering companies, where she has worked since 2009 in various roles. Previously Arkell held key roles in financial planning and investor relations at companies including Delphi, Kmart, Collins & Aikman and Pulte Corp., Mastercard said.
Mastercard is bringing Arkell on as Andrea Forster, the current controller, takes on a new role expanding the company’s shared service center operations, according to Mastercard.
“Andrea has transformed and enhanced our financial operations and we look forward to her continued contribution to the business,” said Martina Hund-Mejean, Mastercard’s CFO, in the release.
Arkell’s appointment becomes effective May 5, 2017.
