MasterCard Worldwide said Wednesday it had struck a deal with a Belgium firm to make it easier for corporate cardholders to keep track of travel-and-expense payments. The deal, with expense-management technology company MobileXpense S.A., is designed so "transactions on MasterCard corporate cards from company employees are uploaded into the MobileXpense system directly from MasterCard systems," a MasterCard spokesperson in Europe tells CardLine Global. "There is no more need to key in data or to recapture data. Employees check and approve the expenses and send [them] on to their manager." Though MasterCard has signed deals with other travel-and-expensive firms, the agreement with MobileXpense is the first "with a Europe-based provider," the spokesperson says.
