Mastercard rolls out service to promote AI adoption

Mastercard is launching AI Express, a service to help companies develop and deploy tailored payment solutions leveraging artificial intelligence.

The program was designed to help companies address potential uses for AI in areas including anti-money laundering, fraud risk management, cyber security, credit risk prediction and operational efficiencies, Mastercard said in a Monday press release.

“If data is the oil that powers the digital economy, artificial intelligence is the refinery … Mastercard has gained significant experience in the application of AI at scale in a mission critical environment,” said Ajay Bhalla, Mastercard’s chief security solutions officer, in the release.

AI Express’ rollout builds on Mastercard’s acquisition last year of Brighterion, an artificial intelligence software company based in San Francisco.
