Maybank Enables Kiosk Card Transactions In Singapore

Malayan Banking Bhd, or Maybank, in Malaysia will allow its customers in Singapore to use their ATM cards to pay credit card bills at AXS kiosks in Singapore, according to a bank spokesperson. Those customers also can pay their phone and other utility bills and reload their EZ-Link contactless fare cards for public transit.

“They will also be able to buy and get cinema tickets at AXS stations,” the spokesperson says.
Singapore-based AXS Pte Ltd. deploys the AXS kiosks, or “stations.” The kiosks include touch screens, card readers, PIN pads, keyboards, barcode scanners and receipt outlets. The kiosks enable payments and other transactions at least 120 billing organizations, according to AXS. They run on a broadband network and operate 24 hours per day.

AXS has deployed more than 560 kiosks in Singapore, generally at high-traffic locations such as shopping malls and subway stops. The financial institution and AXS will run a promotion through March that involves sending 50 Singapore cents (35 U.S. cents or 25 euro cents) to a tuition fund for poor students for every AXS transaction consumers make with a Maybank ATM card, the Maybank spokesperson says.
