“ControlScan as a company, as well as its PCI compliance [services], have met and continue to exceed our expectations,” Drew Freeman, Miami Beach, Fla.-based Merchant Data Systems’ president, said in a May 16 ControlScan press release.

Alpharetta, Ga.-based ControlScan makes its PCI 1-2-3 compliance software available online through a merchant portal called myControlScan.com. The product provides tools and support to analyze, remediate and validate PCI compliance for small merchants at an affordable rate, the release said.

It also provides a PCI dashboard that helps users track merchants’ progress toward PCI compliance, according to the release. The reporting system provides access to individual merchants’ compliance status for analysis and can be exported to any risk management system.

“As the PCI Data Security Standard continues to evolve and hackers become more and more ingenious and aggressive, it is vital that merchants and companies, such as Merchant Data Systems, understand, achieve and continually monitor PCI compliance,” Joan Herbig, ControlScan CEO, said in the release.
