At least 10 new clients adopted Mitek Systems Inc.’s mobile check-capture software last quarter, including three of the top 10 U.S. retail banks and a top-30 credit union, the San Diego-based vendor announced Jan 18.

Mitek’s software enables consumers to deposit checks as images by photographing them with a mobile phone’s camera. It operates on the smartphone platforms offered by Apple Inc., Google Inc. and Research in Motion Ltd. Mitek said its software is available through a number of bank technology vendors.
“It’s tremendously satisfying that our strategic vision for mobile deposit is now being realized,” James B. DeBello, Mitek president and chief executive, said in a press release.
