Moneris Partners with Ingenico and Verifone on EMV Tools

In time for the EMV liability shift, Moneris announced the launch of eight new point-of-sale tools compatible with the chip technology.

Moneris has partnered with two payment hardware providers, Ingenico Group and Verifone, to develop a series of new products, including PIN pads, countertop payment devices and tablet accessories.

Moneris has also partnered with Verifone to push electronic payments and is seeking to broaden its range of merchant categories through mobile payments technology. Ingenico is increasing its partnerships to quickly add new payments innovation.

“We manage every aspect of the EMV migration and integration process, from design and testing, to certification and implementation, making the switch to EMV a seamless transition for merchants,” said Chris Lee, Moneris’s president of North American strategic partnerships and emerging markets, in a press release.

Beginning in October, liability for counterfeit credit card fraud shifts from card issuers to merchants, if they are not equipped with the technology to process payments through EMV chips.
