First National Bank of Omaha and Murphy Oil Corp. on July 1 introduced the Murphy USA Platinum Visa card enabling cardholders to earn rewards on transaction as well as savings on gasoline purchases.
It is the first cobranded card for the El Dorado, Ark.-based oil company, which operates more than 1,000 gasolino stations in 21 states in the Southeast and Midwest.
The card, which carries no annual fee, provides instant savings of 4 cents per gallon on gasoline purchases at Murphy USA or Murphy Express stores. Customers swiping their cards for payment at the pump or point of sale are prompted to enter the discount code, “4”, to get the discount, according to the program’s rules.
Cardholders will also receive 1% cash back on transactions at all other retailers, excluding gasoline purchases. Cardholders may redeem their cash-back rewards in $25 increments either online or by phone.
