Murphy Oil To Give RevolutionCard Users Gas Discounts

Revolution Money Inc. today announced that Murphy Oil USA Inc. will give consumers a 3-cent discount per gallon of gasoline when they use the RevolutionCard credit card for payment. El Dorado, Ark.-based Murphy Oil, which operates nearly 1,000 gas stations in 20 states, typically located in Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lots, recently began accepting RevolutionCard, according to St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Revolution Money. Consumers that apply and are approved for a RevolutionCard beginning Nov. 1 also will receive a $10 credit applied to their statements for each of the first five purchases of $25 or more at Murphy Oil locations, according to Revolution Money. Revolution Money charges 0.5% of the sale as a processing fee per transaction to merchants that accept RevolutionCard, which can save merchants up to 80% in transaction fees, the company claims. More than 300,000 retail locations accept the card, according to a company spokesperson. Revolution Money does not share the number of RevolutionCard cardholders, the spokesperson says.
