NCR Broadens Bitcoin's Reach via NCR Silver Support

NCR's updating its NCR Silver point of sale system to support Bitcoin transactions as retailer acceptance of virtual currency starts to accelerate.

The support will be provided free of charge to merchants, requiring only an activation on their end to start accepting the cryptocurrency as payment. NCR Silver will be compatible with both Apple and Google mobile products that support bitcoin transactions.

The bitcoin option with NCR Silver is available immediately.

Merchants have shown an increasing appetite for virtual currency, including moves to ease regulations and fee reductions by some players.
