NCR Names Fishman CFO

NCR Corp. today named Robert Fishman chief financial officer, ending his stint as interim CFO, a position he has held at the world’s largest ATM manufacturer since October.

Fishman also served as NCR interim CEO from May 2007 through January 2008. During that period, he managed the spinoff of Teradata, NCR’s former data-warehousing business.

NCR disclosed in a Feb. 26 United States Securities and Exchange Commission filing that the U.S. Justice Department is investigating Teradata’s spinoff. The investigation centers on “the propriety of Teradata’s arrangements and understandings with others in connections with certain federal contracts,” NCR executives wrote. Duluth, Ga.-based NCR and Teradata Corp. are participating in certain aspects of the government’s investigation, and NCR will assume financial responsibility for its own exposure, NCR officials said. NCR completed the Teradata spinoff in September 2007.

“Bob’s proven himself to be an outstanding contributor throughout his career at NCR, Bill Nuti, chairman and CEO, said in a statement.

NCR reported 2009 revenue of $4.61 billion, down 13.2% compared with $5.31 billion  in 2008. Last year, NCR employed 21,500 workers in 214 facilities worldwide. It is the world’s largest ATM manufacturer based on annual shipments, according to Retail Banking Research, a London-based strategic-marketing firm.
