Financial institutions, mobile-phone networks, service providers, payment companies and transaction processors in both developed and emerging markets will be able to offer a wide variety of mobile banking and payments services under a enhanced technology platform Monitise PLC announced Oct. 14.
The mobile platform supports a virtual wallet that resides in the handset, payments and shopping, banking, stock trading and account management, the company notes in a news release. Monitise’s new integrated Monitise Global technology platform backs the product set, enabling institutions to offers services by text message, mobile applications and browsers, and through the unstructured supplementary service data protocol GSM cellular telephone use to communicate with the service provider’s computers.
