Newegg Extends Bitcoin Payment Option to Canada

Online electronics retailer Newegg is now accepting bitcoin payments from Canadian customers.

Los Angeles-based Newegg, which works with the bitcoin merchant services provider BitPay, has accepted bitcoin payments from U.S. customers since July. The BitPay platform handles Newegg's bitcoin payments, refunds and payment exceptions.

"Newegg is deeply committed to growing its business internationally, introducing new products from key Asian markets and evolving the way we transact with our global customer base," said Soren Mills, chief marketing officer of Newegg North America, in an Aug. 26 press release.

Newegg also accepts a number of other digital payment options, including Visa Checkout (formerly V.me), MasterCard's MasterPass, PayPal and PayPal Credit (formerly Bill Me Later).
