Cloud-based mobile payment provider P97 Networks Inc. will partner with Fiscal Systems Inc. to enable gas pumps and station convenience stores to provide customers smart-phone based payment options.
P97 Networks will integrate its PetroZone mobile commerce system into Fiscal's point-of-sale terminals, the companies announced Feb. 18.
Houston, Texas-based P97 is among those providing gas stations with a mobile payment option as those companies continue preparing for the shift to EMV chip card compliance.
P97 and Fiscal have mutual oil company clients, such as Sinclair, the companies said. Fiscal offers a platform that links fuel payments to accompanying travel centers or convenience stores.
"Fiscal and P97 both embrace open standards and the integration of our technologies ensures our customers have a reliable and scalable mobile commerce solution that is cost effective," Don Frieden, CEO of P97, stated in a press release.
The companies plan to make the PetroZone software available on Fiscal terminals next month.
