Paytm Canada partners with Paysafe

Paysafe has partnered with Paytm Canada, the Toronto-based division of Indian mobile payments juggernaut Paytm, to improve the capabilities of Paytm's Canadian app, which currently supports utility and bill payments.

Paysafe North America is now processing payments for Paytm Canada, along with providing data protection and security, Paysafe said in a Tuesday press release.

The move is the beginning of a close collaboration between the two companies as they continue to look for ways to strengthen their partnership and bring more value to Paytm’s base, according to the release.

“We’re pleased to be enabling more ways in which Paytm Canada’s customers can pay with ease through their mobile application knowing their payment is secure,” said Carla Erlick, Paysafe’s senior vice president for Paysafe’s North American processing division, in the release.

“Paysafe has worked with us as a true partner and their customer on-boarding and support services have made it a seamless process for us,” said Harinder Takhar, Paytm Canada’s CEO, in the release.

Paytm Canada launched the app in March of 2018, focusing on mobile bill payments. Consumers who download the app may use it to pay utilities and other bills, earning points redeemable at participating merchants including Amazon and Tim Hortons. Paytm Canada offers 10,000 points equal to $10 for each customer who signs up.
