Payworks, a payments technology services company, has launched a cloud-based payment infrastructure for processing in-person payments.
Payworks’ new gateway, called Pulse, aims to address the underdevelopment of in-person payments, whose opportunity it says has grown significantly because of a simultaneous boom in e-commerce and mobile payments and the need to reconcile outdated infrastructure and systems with increasingly high security standards.
Pulse is compatible with EMV chip-and-PIN cards, contactless cards and mobile wallets Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay. Payworks also offers a
Pulse is licensed by payment providers to satisfy the needs of business sizes. Barclaycard, Stripe, SIX, Elavon and Concardis are among the payment processors already connected to Pulse.
“The official launch of Pulse is a very important milestone for our company,” Christian Deger, Payworks cofounder and CEO, said in an Aug. 30 news release. “Pulse will create fantastic opportunities for our partners and clients, both technically as well as commercially.”
