Powa, DataCap Look to Ease Merchant Mobile Payments Integration

Mobile payment provider Powa is partnering with DataCap Systems to shorten the time it takes merchants to deploy mobile point of sale applications, a move the companies hope will provide differentiation in a crowded marketplace.

Powa's tablet-based point of sale system will link to DataCap's IPTranLT and PaymentsDrawer product lines, which will provide independent software vendors access to almost all payment processoers in North America via a single interface.

“The partnership with Datacap is the latest significant step toward our goals to accelerate adoption of next generation tablet-based POS and reduce the integration time that has in the past often put off resellers looking to equip merchant clients,” said Jeff Dumbrell, CEO of PowaPOS, in an Oct. 7 press release. “By creating this single interface with PowaPOS’ SDK, Datacap’s ISV partners will not only have instant access to our advanced POS platform, but also to up-to-date security and features, so that they can focus on developing innovative software, and avoid the costs and hassles of ongoing assessments and certifications.”

Powa, which has been adding services through a series of partnerships to aid the U.S. EMV migration has also enhanced its mobile point of sale offering by adding EMV migration service and a bundled suite of merchant services joining the growing number of mobile point of sale providers that are luring merchants by adding services beyond payments.
