Merchants' Choice Payment Solutions and Powa Technologies have teamed up to launch an integrated tablet-based point of sale system in a bid to meet demand for tablet-based payments.
The partnership will bring together Powa's PowaPOS retail payments platform and MCPSs new Foundry POS application, according to a March 4 press release. The Phoenix Group, an independent distributor, will supply merchants with the product.
Foundry POS is a new cloud-based software application specially designed for the retail and restaurants industries. It provides access to real-time reports and the Merchant Foundry customer relationship management (CRM) system. The application can scale to support multiple locations and devices. It also enables EMV-chip card payments and NFC-based mobile payments such as Apple Pay.
Since releasing PowaPOS, Powa has formed a number of partnerships aimed at simplifying mobile payments. The London-based company has sought out acquisitions
"As demand for tablet-based payments solutions continues to skyrocket, and with the coming EMV transition, many merchants are more receptive today than ever before to finding a solution that meets their specific business needs," said Michael Struttmann, SVP and GM of North America at PowaPOS, in the release. "With this partnership, PowaPOS and MCPS can not only provide a powerful POS platform, but also one that leverages MCPS' payment processing capabilities, for a true all-in-one solution."
MCPS chose PowaPOS for its hardware partner due to Powa's design and its simple software development kit, MCPS president Todd Linden said in the release.
