Prepaid International Forum, an international trade association, will launch an India chapter of its organization in Mumbia on 7 Aug. India is an attractive market for prepaid products because of its large population and low penetration of card products, says the association. Roughly 20% of India's adults have a payment card of some kind, according to the association. "The launch of a new India Chapter represents global recognition of India as an emerging prepaid market with tremendous potential for growth and financial inclusion," says Amit Sethi, managing director of Total System Services Inc. in India and South Asia. Total System Services, known as TSYS, is a patron of the India Chapter. The association did not define what being a patron or the chapter entails. The Prepaid International Forum was established in 2007 in the United Kingdom.
