The Phoenix Group, an O'Fallon, Mo.-based point-of-sale equipment distributor, has begun selling a new prepaid version of Way System Inc.'s way5000 mobile point-of-sale device through an exclusive deal, Way Systems says. Way Systems bundles the device with prepaid connection time and online payment-gateway services. The prepaid device eliminates long-term contracts merchants might shy away from, enabling merchants to pay for the services as needed, Woburn, Mass.-based Way Systems says.
