Roam, iPayment to Sell Mobile Payment Tech to Merchants

Roam, a Boston-based Ingenico subsidiary that sells mobile commerce technology, will partner with iPayment to sell a range of mobile payment services to merchants.

Roam will provide mobile card readers and mobile point of sale acceptance technology, including support for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Roam also offers Payment Card Industry data security standard compliance, data exchange and merchant onboarding services.

iPayment sells credit and debit card payment processing services to more than 165,000 mostly small merchants across the United States, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club.

Roam also recently updated its mobile app to allow merchants to operate a point of sale system from smartphones or tablets.

Ingenico has been expanding its EMV-chip card acceptance offerings via recent partnerships with WorldPay, Heartland Payment Systems, and Avant-Garde Marketing Solutions.
