Swedish mobile payments provider Seamless has entered a distribution deal with retail tech provider PCMS Group.
This agreement expands the mobile payment system
To use SEQR, a user scans a QR code displayed at the point of sale and then confirms the amount by entering a PIN in the mobile wallet app. The receipt is then stored in the mobile app.
Seamless handles more than 3.1 billion transactions annually through 525,000 active sales outlets, the company says in a June 16 press release.
Retailers in the U.S. and U.K. such as Walgreens, Arcadia, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Waitrose and Waterstones will now have access to SEQR through PCMS.
"The speed of change in the payments industry is stunning and SEQR seem to be at the forefront of innovation," says Richard Goodall, group sales and marketing director at PCMS, in a press release. "Our clients need payment solutions for all devices across their many sales channels."
