Select-A-Branch ATM Network has signed an agreement with First National Bank of Suffield, which is based in Suffield, Conn., both companies announced.
First National Bank of Suffield joined Select-A-Branch because the bank is a member of NYCE EFT’s Sum Selective surcharge-free ATM network, says George W. Herman, bank president and CEO. Select-A-Branch and NYCE last July signed an agreement in which NYCE’s 500 banks and credit union members had the option of joining Select-A-Branch.
Select-A-Branch owns 225 to 240 ATMs, and First National Bank of Suffield will promote Select-A-Branch ATMs because the machines brand First National Bank transactions, Herman says. Select-A-Branch ATMs software displays financial institution-branded screens when a cardholder of a member bank inserts his card into the ATM.
First National Bank has issued 5,200 MasterCard-branded debit cards, and card transactions over Select-A-Branch’s network are surcharge free, Herman says.
The agreement expands First National’s ATM network. The bank owns and operates four ATMs located in bank branches, he says.
“We have college student customers who travel and customers who travel on business,” Herman says. “Select-A-Branch owns ATMs located on Pennsylvania and Connecticut turnpike plazas and Dunkin’ Donuts in Manhattan,” Herman says. “College students love Dunkin’ Donuts for its coffee and donuts.” Select-A-Branch also deploys ATMs in Manhattan McDonald’s restaurants.
“By providing a growing footprint of new ATM locations that feature surcharge-free ATM transactions customer with our brand and messages, SAB is helping us to deepen our customer relationships,” Herman said in an earlier statement.
Select-A-Branch is based in King of Prussia, Pa.
