Shopify is making Klarna’s instant-financing offering available to merchants using Shopify’s e-commerce platform in nine international markets.
Shopify’s merchants in the U.S., U.K., Austria, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands may now add Klarna as a payment option on checkout pages through an integration the two companies recently completed, Klarna said in a Tuesday press release.
Klarna enables consumers to apply for instant financing by entering a mobile phone number, an email and sometimes a home address when making a purchase online. Depending on regulations in each local country, Shopify merchants may opt to offer flexible or fixed month-to-month payments from Klarna; and in Europe, Shopify merchants may extend the option to delay payment for 14 days, according to the release.
“We’re always looking for ways to reduce friction at checkout and we are excited about Klarna’s new offering,” said Mohammed Hashemi, Shopify’s senior products manager.
