Six Card Solutions, a Switzerland-based processor formerly known as Telekurs Card Solutions, said Wednesday it had signed a deal with First Data Corp. to take over the United States-based processor's Austrian business, which mainly includes the portfolio for PayLife Bank GmbH. That portfolio processes more than 500 million debit and credit card transactions, a Six Card spokesperson tells CardLine Global.  Some 130 of the 180 First Data employees who serve Austrian accounts will transfer to Six Card.  The deal also includes "a few other processing services for other customers currently serviced out of First Data's Austrian data center," the spokesperson says. PayLife last year said it would hire Six Card to take over processing and debit card acquiring from First Data (CardLine Global, 3 Sept. 2008). This week's deal means Six Card "can better enable a secure and smooth migration of the PayLife portfolio to our systems," the spokesperson says.
