First National Merchant Solutions, an Omaha, Neb.-based payment processor, says it is debuting a data-security compliance program for its smaller merchants. First National says all of its Level 4 merchants, which process fewer than 1 million annual card transactions, will be eligible to use the service that includes monitoring software from Trustwave, a Chicago-based payment security company. The software checks a merchant's payment system to ensure it meets Payment Card Industry data-security measures. First National will hold online educational events for merchants about the program. The processor has more than 55,000 Level 4 merchants that are eligible for this program, a First National Merchant Solutions spokesperson tells CardLine sister publication ISO&Agent Weekly. Overall, the processor says it serves more than 400,000 merchant locations.
