Snapper Expands Contactless Bus Tickets In New Zealand

IMGCAP(1)]

Snapper Services Ltd. has expanded its contactless-ticketing service to include Runciman buses in New Zealand's Hutt Valley, the New Zealand-based chip card technology vendor says in a statement. Snapper cards enable riders to store up to NZ$300 (US$205 or 140 euros) for bus trips, says the company, a subsidiary of Infratil Ltd., also based in New Zealand. Consumers pay NZ$10 to purchase the cards and 25 New Zealand cents to add value to the card accounts. Consumers already can use the card for bus rides in the Wellington area.
