Cirro Energy this week announced the launch of a credit card-acceptance initiative designed for small and midsize businesses in Texas. Under the initiative, the subsidiary of Richmond, Va.-based Dominion Resources Inc. is enabling the companies to pay their electric bills using cards carrying the Visa or MasterCard brands.
This utility is offering to accept the card payments for free when commercial customers make automatic, recurring or one-time payments, Cirro Energy notes in a news release.
Though the economy is on the rebound, companies still are carefully monitoring their budgets, Mike Rose, Cirro Energy managing director, stated in the release. Cirro Energy’s expanded payment program allows small and midsize customers to have more flexibility when managing monthly payment options, he added.
A representative from Richardson, Texas-based Cirro Energy was not immediately available to comment on the initiative.
