Total Systems Solutions Inc., also known as TSYS, is entering the Italian market for the first time.
In a deal announced this week, the Columbus, Ga.-based transaction processor says Cedacri S.p.A, an Italy-based banking-services company, will use its TS Prime product for online authorization and switching; ATM, risk and charge-back management; and fraud detection.
Cedacri will use TS Prime through a new company it created, C-Card, designed to solicit outsourced card-account management deals, the company notes in a news release.
Some 70 million credit and debit cards and 8.2 million prepaid cards are on issue in Italy, according to UK-based Retail Banking Research Ltd.
A TSYS representative was not available to comment by PaymentsSource’s deadline.
